This year, I will mark my 20th year as a teacher, with 16 of those years as a high school teacher.

I had a wide and varied school experience growing up because I attended school in 3 different states, from West Virginia to Texas! I graduated from a high school in DeSoto, Texas, a Dallas suburb. Needless to say, my high school experience was a blast because I had such a large metro area to enjoy with my friends.

College brought me back to my birthplace: Chattanooga. I attended Tennessee Temple University, where I received a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, I landed my first teaching job in Jacksonville, Florida. After 2 years there, I decided that I loved the mountains more than the beach, and I ended up coming back to Chattanooga to teach and to earn a Masters Degree in English from the Univeristy of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Most of my teaching years were spent in Chattanooga, but after I got married, I moved to Ringgold. I took some time off to stay home with my two kids when they were small. While my kids were in elementary school, I spent many hours volunteering and substitute teaching. Through those experiences, I decided that Catoosa County was the place to teach! I returned to teaching in Catoosa County in 2007, getting my initial start in 2nd grade, then quickly moved to the high school level. I am now in my 7th year with Catoosa County, and my 2nd year at HHS. I love being a General!

I currently live in Ringgold with an amazing husband, 2 great teenage kids, and a really funny little dog. In my free time (which is mostly in the summer), I enjoy reading, hanging out with my family, and playing with my crazy dog.
