NewNew Courses:
Dramatic Writing has been added as an elective in the English Department.  The movie industry is growing rapidly in Georgia and the Georgia Film Academy trained teachers, like Heritage High's Rachel Murray, to teach this new course and prepare graduates for jobs in the film industry.

The From Here to Career course replaces Introduction to Digital Technology as a required class for graduation from Catoosa County Schools.  Intro To Digital Tech will still be offered as a CTAE elective.  This course will help students explore career interests and career course offerings at HHS and Georgia NW Tech.  They will also explore opportunities that are available to them after graduation.  Bus transportation is available.

A new Mechatronics Career Pathway is available through Georgia Northwestern Technical College.  Mechatronics is a profession that focuses on both electrical and mechanical systems.  These systems include robotics, electronics, computer science, engineering CAD and drafting and automation.  Students in the program spend half their day at HHS and half at GNTC's Catoosa Campus.

New Faculty Members:
Mr. David Dinger joins the HHS faculty as a math teacher and assistant baseball coach after retiring from a very successful career at Lookout Valley High School in Tennessee.  Coach Dinger has degrees from Tennessee Wesleyan, Cumberland University and Lincoln Memorial University.

Mrs. Missy Lewis returns to Catoosa County where she taught math in 2003.  Since then she has lived in Montana and Atlanta and most recently taught at Peachtree Ridge High School.  Mrs. Lewis is a graduate of Kennesaw State University.

Mr. Mike Moore (HHS Class of 2013) is coming home after teaching at Chinquapin Prepatory School in Texas and will teach Social Studies.  He earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science from Davidson College where he also wrestled for 4 years.

Ms. Addison Rose (HHS Class of 2015) is also coming home to Heritage High as a first year special education teacher.  She will split her time between HHS and HMS.  Addison graduated from the State University of West Georgia in the spring of 2019.

School Resource Officer Chris Marcus will move from HMS to HHS.  SRO Tyler Smith will move from HHS to Ringgold Middle.

Mrs. Debra Shirley will replace Mrs. Angie Swanson as our school nurse.  Nurse Shirley comes to HHS from Lakeview Middle.

Other Changes:
Football tickets have increased from $7 to $8 for our Region.  Tickets will remain $7 for games against Ringgold and Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.

Georgia HOPE will place a part time therapist at Heritage High.  This therapist, Ms. Shelby Gregory, has an office in the main office.  Ms. Gregory will serve students referred to her through the school counseling office.  Contact your school counselor for more information.
